Customer Review: Need help removing the bottom compartment

I'm hoping someone who has one of these will come back & share information as to how to remove the bottom compartment of this grinder -- the place where you put the unground herbs. The instructions say to turn it counter-clockwise, but that seems only to tighten it up worse. Do they mean counter-clockwise when the grinder is large side up or when it's down? I only used this grinder once, & when I tried to remove the compartment to put in a different herb, I couldn't get it unscrewed. I've tried soaking the bottom in hot water (ensuring that the gears didn't get wet), putting the whole thing into the freezer, using a rubber grabber mitt on the bottom & another on the metal ring around the middle: nothing has worked. It doesn't look cross-threaded. Help! I'm almost to the point of using my Dremel to cut off the bottom & find a cork to close it off when it's right side up.

I'm raising this to 5 stars! I called the customer service people & the lady there was SO helpful. She immediately said they'd send me another spice grinder as mine must've been defective. Not only did I receive the new one within 3 days, but they sent me a pre-paid shipping label to return the bad one. The new one works great (and you do turn the bottom counter-clockwise, holding the device upside down, to remove the bottom. I love the Kitchen Store, which was the retailer who shipped my grinder.
