Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Progressive International Onion ChopperCustomer Review: Veggie Chopper Summary: 5 StarsI had another chopper that was almost exactly the same as this one but cost more money. The only difference is the other one had two grids so you could chop two different sizes of veggies. The item works really well. It cuts preparation time down tremendously when I make soups or salsa where I used to have to prepare the veggies with a knife. I bought 2 of these as I feel in the long run one of the plastic "ears" will break off as it did on my old one. I wanted an extra chopper on hand as these things are really great and I didn't want to be without one.
Customer Review: Breaks Easily Summary: 1 Starsstay away. The construction of this item is very poor. While it looks appealing, it broke after first use in my case. I kept half an onion on the blades and applied uniform pressure on the top only to find the fixed edge breaking off and the onion stuck in the blades.
Customer Review: Works great, clean up stinks! Summary: 3 StarsChops carrots, onion, garlic, very nice, that's all I tried, no probs. My only concern is how the white part of the product, you can see in the picture where it has small bumps or cubes, well.....food gets stuck in this and can not be cleaned out by just simply running water. Food gets stuck in it! It is currently in my dishwasher and I'll see how it turns out. But doesn't seem fair to use this once and have to dishwash it to clean it. Otherwise, it does work really well. Good luck!
Customer Review: Poor quality Summary: 2 StarsI ordered this product and when it arrived it was cracked, so I requested to replace it and when the replacement came it too was cracked in the same spot. So, I got a hold of customer services to let them know that the product came to me both time broken in the same spot and they promptly refunded me my money. But if the product wasn't cracked it would have been a great item to have.
Customer Review: Loved my moms chopper Summary: 4 StarsI had never seen this chopper until spending the weekend with my mom last week. She is 79, arthritic, has had several broken ribs, 3 compression back fractures, so it is hard for her to do things, but she loves to cook if someone is there and we were making fried potatoes(which I love, but don't make often because I have a family of 7, so it's a lot of peeling and chopping+plus we don't fry foods very often) and she got this gadget out to use. We cut the potatoes into halves or quarters depending on the size of the potatoes and I was amazed that it chopped them so small. I was expecting a french fry cut. I don't know how it dices, but it was great! She's been using hers for a couple of years a few times a week for cooking and fruit salads. I ordered one and am excitedly waiting for it. After I use it awhile, I will probably be ordering more for the 4 weddings (at least) I will be attending in the next few months!
